gif tutorial.

Programs Needed:

• Photoshop
• QuickTime Player (PRO)

1. Open up QuickTime Player and find a video that you want to gif.

2. Select a part of that video that you actually want to “gif” gif. For example:

This is the beginning (where it is circled)

This is the part of the video that you actually want to gif.

3. After that go to Edit > Trim to Selection

4. Save your video (File > Save As…) and name it whatever you want to name it. Then you can click out QuickTime Player because you won’t need it anymore

5. Open up Photoshop, then go to File > Import > Video Frames to Layers… then find your video and click load.

6. This should pop up now

If your file is still too big and you want to trim it down some more, then click Selected Range Only and select the part that you want to gif.

Also if your file is too big, then you can click Limit To Every __ Frames. It cuts the frames down so there can be less. You don’t need to, though (i’m not).

7. Press OK
8. Once it is done opening (it may take a while) “Sharpen More” your frames if your video is 720p or 1080p (If your video is 500px, then just “Sharpen” it).

9. Change your image size to 500px, 245px, 160px, etc..

10. Once that’s done, you need to sharpen it one more time. Now, you’ll just do the regular sharpen (Filter > Sharpen > Sharpen) or you can use smart sharpen which is what I use (Filter > Sharpen > Smart Sharpen. Match these settings when using smart sharpen:

11. Now change the speed of the frames to 0.06 sec

12. Add whatever PSD you want to it. Here is what I used:

1. Brightness/Contrast - Brightness: [+93], Contrast: [-50]
2. Vibrance - Vibrance: [+82], Saturation: [0]
3. Gradient Fill 1 - Foreground: #4e402d , Background: #ddcdc0, Style: Linear, Angle: 90°, Scale: 100%, Set to: Soft Light, Opacity: 100%
4. Gradient Fill 1 - Foreground: #ffffff , Background: Transparent, Style: Radial, Angle: 90°, Scale: 100%, Set to: Soft Light, Opacity: 50%
5. Levels - [40], [1.00], [255]
6. Curves - Output: 148, Input: 137

Yay! Now you’re finally done!
